Our 2 day Open College Level 3 accredited course
has been developed to provide young supervisors and managers with
the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours to increase their
effectiveness in employee and customer relations.

This day focuses on general management skills and
practises. We explore why people work, what motivates them, how
to develop our communications skills to improve attitudes and performance.
Session 1 - Managing People
n What makes a good
supervisor. Identify people skills and consider methods to improve.
n Communicating with
staff, developing negotiation and influencing skills, putting these
into practice.
n Motivating and leading
with confidence, understanding what "drives" people so we can help
them deliver their best at work.
Session 2 - Managing People
n Conflict management
- customers and employees.
n Dealing with difficult
situations and conflict in the workplace.
n Sickness and absences
- common management problems reviewed.
n Grievance and discipline
- understanding rights and responsibilities.

This day concentrates on the legal framework surrounding work.
This module is delivered in a popular format and assumes no previous
legal knowledge

Session 2 - Health and Safety
n Safety at work.
n Responsibilities.
n Assessing and Managing
Risks.

The course has been designed with our National Education Department
who provide training for many leading companies in the leisure,
retail and hospitality sectors.

The course can either be held at our National Training College
in Whalley Range, Manchester or at your place of work, or at your
College.

The course costs £100 per person for the two-day course to non-members
of Massive, but to individual Massive members it is FREE.
This course concentrates on developing
key-people skills and complements any National Vocational Qualification.
